As seen in the pages of Happy Home…Lucy, the Classic Halter Dress! We’ve engineered this one to have multiple coverage options and fit all body types. We also love the way that Lifestyle fabrics are so suitable for this dress. Long or short it is stunning and every woman and looks amazing! A simple tie at the neck, elastic back and you are good to go. Take it everywhere, especially on the next vacation. It is a true show stopper that you can make in a flash!
DESIGN OPTIONS
Coverage – Two separate bodice patterns are included. The Classic Halter style has bikini-style cups that meet in the center. While cool and breezy, the classic version is still perfectly appropriate for all occasions. The Full Coverage style crosses over at the front, and also comes up higher under the arms to wrap more fully around the sides and back.
Skirt Length – The A-line skirt can be made in a range of lengths from mini to maxi. The longer the skirt, the more flare at the bottom. The short lengths make for great tops!
Fabric – The dress can be made from a single fabric, or multiple fabrics can be mixed and matched. We love using a contrasting fabric for the lining and/or waistband.

First of all, wonderful pattern. Fully detailed and very easy for beginners to follow. And seasoned seamstresses will be happy as well. 🙂 A few pointers for the plus size:
I sewed up the 3x Lucy dress, I have DD bust so I sized up. I have a few suggestions and ideas to modify this design for the plus size gal.
The sample I made was not the best fitting in the bust and lacked support for my 40DD chest. I would suggest raising the back band, to bra band height, maybe even adding 1 or 2 additional elastic bands for more support. This would mean adding a bit on the sides to attach the higher back piece.
I am going to attempt this myself, but I thought I would offer a few suggestions. I love your patterns and one of the best things is that you offer plus sizes. I think with a few modifications, this would be smashing and flattering to the plus size gal.
A very nice and easy to make dress – love all the detailed instructions. It was a breeze to make! I’ve made two dresses – one in maxi length from viscose and another, short one, in linen. Perfect dress for a hot day – and oh so many possibilities to combine different fabrics
