Our intern artist Lauren Cody was commissioned to revamp the vintage Putz Houses that had seen better days. Lacking their luster Lauren went to work this past summer to renovate these little houses from the past and gave them character . Wow, they are so happy now and definitely a place I would like to live. 🙂 Love you guys. Thanks Lauren for the love you pour into these. More Houses at our show below..xo
PS Barbara Strawser will be here and she can’t wait to meet you all!!
So let’s change it up and use some of the projects from Girls World to make Holiday items. You are going to love this one. Who doesn’t love a little felt in their lives? Vintage pom poms? Ok so I got your attention. I’m sure you all remember the banner in Girls World. It was a Happy Birthday banner but I changed it up a bit to now say Merry Christmas. You will need wool felt I got mine on Etsy, stabilizer backing, diecuts from Maya Road the white flowery part, and felt letters called stickit’s mine are from ebay. Of course a Girls World Book to keep you on track. The sentiment is all yours..You make it up!! So love that you come by it means the world to me!!!
So I took a bunch of candle sticks and spray painted them gold!! While they were drying I took those cardboard cones wrapped old wallpaper and tinsel around and made a lovely forest of Christmas trees. I’m finding my true north and trying to always top last years handmades..it’s not easy sometimes I think where is my creativity!!! Like any creative if you don’t use it you get a bit stale but I am in the groove and ideas are flying now i need to catch up with them. #sleepless nights. I hope you come this year. Make the trek and see how much fun we have here!! Invite below in previous post. So here are the trees. $45.00 each.
So it’s official, dates are set and I am hustling in the craft room getting ready for all of you!!!! We have some awesome ideas and they are now coming to life!! Lucky Girl will be in stock by then and you can come get you some. Because the show is early you can even make something up. Yes check the dates, in early November this year, so you will have the gifts you need to celebrate the season. Here are a few of the things we have been preparing. Pricing is all under $40.00 each for items listed below.
I’ve neglected my blog and the work is piling up!! Please forgive me. I devote so much time to sewing these days and I really need to get on the stick? ..off the stick? and why a stick? Anywho I miss you all and I’ve wanted to share with you the greatest project I did this summer …I mean we. Katies boyfriend Berto painted the dresser below with Annie Sloans Napoleonic Blue Chalk Paint, forget the paint, that name sends me to the moon!!! I knew I had to have it and yes pricey for a pint but I still have a 1/2 a can left!!! This woman is brilliant, her colors are fabulous and the videos and tips on various sites and youtube make the whole thing go quite quickly. I want to paint everything this color just so I can say Napoleonic Blue..feels so noble..Royal!! So take a look and tell her I sent you. Not that she’ll care or even know who I am….So inhale this beautiful dresser if you like.. The knobs are from Anthropologie but a little to transparant..not showing up..so I painted the back white so no light could shine through and now they pop!!! So I promise from here on forward not to neglect my Blog duties but please say you’ll keep coming..xoxoxo Oh and sweet boy George was such a big help!
We LOVE the entire collection over at ModCloth… Cute vintage silhouettes + great prints = awesome!
Dress up any Sis Boom peasant with a sweet Cardigan and some adorable oxfords?! This duo below would be great with anything Circa or Lucky Girl… Jus’ Sayin’. Even a Vanessa would look awesome with this set!
We’re just beginning to feel a chill in the air. Leaves are starting to turn. School buses and backpacks replace flip flops and beach umbrellas… What does this mean for us?! The Sis Boom HOLIDAY SHOW IS AROUND THE CORNER!
Ok, so maybe holidays are the last thing on your mind, but here at Sis Boom, Jennifer has already begun spinning gold in her craft room. Just wait ’til you see what she’s got up her sleeve this year! We’re getting ready, and oh-so-eager to share the holiday trinkets and wonders with you! You’ll have to wait a little bit… but what we will say is that the show is going to be nice and early this year.
For all of our far away friends, don’t you worry. You know we never forget you.
There’s something magical that happens when you combine pretty purses with bows and shiny bracelets and earrings with fabric.. specifically Sis Boom fabric (wink wink). In putting together these looks for our photo shoots, we always dream big, but try to provide a look that we think you can replicate at home. Sure, you may want to tone it down, or switch it up, but we always hope to inspire and send the message that it’s fun to dream and it’s fun to go BIG, BRIGHT, and HAPPY!
We provide, in our shop, most of what we share on the blog, but dig deep in those closets and jewelry boxes and fabric piles.. Whip up something special, or piece something special together. You deserve it!
Sometimes the best gifts are a collection of sweet things. The receiver can always tell that you’ve put some serious thought into the gift giving process, plus who doesn’t love opening more than 1 gift?!
Ideal for a house warming, Bridal shower, Baby shower, Engagement gift, birthday, or just because gift, this Hooray pillow is sure to put a smile on your friend’s face. Couple it with these other smalls and viola. You’re ready for the party!
