Something for the Boys

I bow down to Carla Crim on this one Not as easy as most of our patterns the Ethan and Marco patterns will challenge you to take the next step.  In true Sis Boom form Carla writes it so the beginner can stay engaged and create something wonderful for the boys/ men in your life.  Carla will not bring a pattern to market that all levels cannot create. We are so excited about this! Folks were so enthusiastic about seeing a men’s shirt in Happy Home that we decided to offer it in our pattern collection.  Kudos to the Scientific Seamstress for bringing it to life!!!  So let’s create!!! They are in our shop and will be distributed to our sellers very soon. Please note these are long sleeves with cuffs we forgot to show you them with the cuff..next photoshoot. Fabric found here. Thanks Hawthorne Threads!

We rave about rag quilts!

Check out this stunner from Jack and Mae!!!!  We woke up and just had to share..lots of tutorials on line just google rag quilts.  These make great gifts because they are not as labor intensive a good beginner quilt I should say.  My daughter made one at sewing camp when she was 12.  I love the mix of Bohemia and the exuberance of color.  Such a beauty. Sarah and Liz we love what you are up too keep it coming we want to see. They also make sweet tea wallets so you are never without your fave..very cool.

SIS BOOM CLIP ART SERIES: STRIPED HEART TREE

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! You know what that means – a brand new Sis Boom Clip Art project!!

This week we’re using Sis Boom’s Striped Hearts Clip Art files to make a quick & colorful decoration.

A similar idea to the Sequin Flower Tree we made a couple of weeks ago, this one is just as easy!

First glitter your Styrofoam tree – just use some white glue and any color glitter that tickles your fancy.

Follow the instructions in this Confetti Heart Charm Bracelet post for printing your striped heart digital files on Shrinky Dink paper. (Remember to make sure it is the kind that can be used in an inkjet printer!)

Then cut our your hearts, shrink ’em in the oven, and use some colored straight pins to attach them to the tree – just like putting ornaments on!

Imagine making a few of these in all different colors and sizes and decorating your mantle! Great for Valentine’s Day, but also just for a happy, colorful room accent that would be perfect any day of the year!

Check back here next Friday for one more take on a Sis Boom Clip Art tree!
