My Girl Tanya

This girl is one to watch. Many of you got to see her in Portland at that amazing booth of hers with her very talented mom by her side. I thought I’d fill you in on some of our show background noise that makes these Markets so fun and giggly and we get to feel like school girls with the family back on the East Coast…..looking for Soda when we were totally parched just to have our last coins swallowed up by these mean mega machines that looked like they new better than us……putting a chair together from IKEA a big joke until lovely Erin McMorris showed up !! Getting a lovely corner of the hotel restaurant where I got to know her mom ! LOL moments because we think the same. Somehow Tanya and I made a connection long ago when I first met her maybe cause I saw so much of myself in her as a young new designer wondering which way was up!!! Look at her now , Her Textiles are fresh and exuberant, Her palette sweet as Tupelo Honey ..(Both big fans of Van Morrison) and her sewing patterns couldn’t be anymore straight forward…..Take a look at her Quilt Market Posts and see that fun booth.     OK, Jennifer, you actually made me cry, yes I’m crying!! but in a totally happy way. You know how I feel about you and your talent and about you as person. I feel so incredibly grateful to call you my friend and I know that you touch every person who knows you in the same way because you are so very special. A Jennifer just doesn’t come along every day in one’s life and I feel very lucky to know you.I think I’ll print this post out and frame it cause it’ll make me happy every time I look at it.     yes, I agree her lovely patterns make me want to sit in bed all day long on a sunny afternoon.
    I am getting ready for my show tomorrow and I am in over my head again, oh well such is the life of a crazed artist!

    Hi Jennifer ~ I have been reading other blogs about Portland and have to say that I fell in love with Tanya’s booth, too (via the posts. She has those yummy and cottagey fabrics and all – enough to make my heart skip beats! This is such a lovely tribute about an amazingly talented woman. What a nice thing to do for Tanya.

    Happy Saturday Jennifer!…Just had to compliment you!…I read all the blog posts about the quilt show & all the amazingly talented women attending! I just love seeing women supporting women…one talented designer singing the praises of another! I was familiar with your fabulous fabrics & watched you on the little videos on the Country Living magazine’s website. It it so nice to know that the successful women you see in magazines, T.V., etc. are truly as nice as they seem!…you & Tanya!….Heidi 🙂

    Oh Jennifer~I could not agree more! Next to Sis Boom, I am just ENTHRALLED with the Barefoot Roses Collection! What a very very talented designer!
