Dirty Ball

Here he is George the Labradoodle from Glen Eden in VA. trouble from the get go ……waiting to play dirty ball
that’s right go ahead and magnify that picture and see what I mean….There on the beautiful Ralph Lauren fabric.. yes that’s him with his dirty ball….he gets away with murder…George is one of the greatest prophets of all time…he taught me to just be and that material things don’t have to weigh me down and they don’t rule my life , you wipe it off and move on, no need for a mental breakdown….White sofas, canvas for his dirty paws, oriental rugs…back scratchers,…when the kids were young the house and keeping it perfect (a pipe dream) was all so important and now it’s just not…the pleasure this dog brings far out weighs any mishaps he has around the house…when he thows up…I whisper “mammas here.”.. and when his arthritis acts up we massage him…we throw footballs for him to fetch and chase him around the house.. we even play hide and go seek….the beauty of having George is watching the kids and how they love and nurture too… now that Matt drives there is a towel laid down in the back seat of his car just for George..together they visit Clarisse at Fidos Food Bin and the mention of her name will get him wimpering….At the end of the day Kate and I lay down with him to say prayers and he’ll rest his chin on dirtyball looking on intently….last but not least Rich of House and Pet who takes him every Monday and Friday for doggie adventure and he swims and runs with his buddies Angie,Bella.Lucy.Molly and whoever else signed up for the day…Tell him Rich is coming and he jumps up on the window seat the tail going back and forth wildly and waits with his dirty ball until Rich shows up…That is one special relationship…Rich is his life..He’s one lucky boy..Photo

He is one gorgeous dog! It’s no wonder that he gets away with so much!!! We have a bichon frise who has the same charm!!! I was wondering if you are attending the Country Living Fair next week in Morrow Ohio? I noticed that your picture is on the ad for it in the magazine(my fingers are crossed because I LOVE your fabric and vintage creations!)?

i have seen that cute doggy of yours laying on his sisboom bed for a few years.
i need to be reminded of the ole’ ” material things don’t matter” every now & then…see my latest entry & you’ll laugh.
we just got a beautiful golden from the rescue & i love to take him in my new suburban everywhere i go…just today his hair got all in my clean car & then he sat in MY seat while i ran into walgreens & drooled all over my window…sigh..but i do love that sweet boy.

I loved this post! It made me love your doggie and his dirty ball! Pets have a way of bringing you around to what’s really important in life, don’t they.

Oh, I love this post! I adore George and his dirtyball, and I think it says loads about a family if they have a special friend like him. I am always in awe of your creativity and talent, and I love it that you have a complement to my family’s own best friend, Sophie, AND her fat cat buddy, Blueberry.
Isn’t it nice to be at a stage in your life where you can savor the sweet, simple things and the joy of a George and his dirtyball? My love of my pets and enjoying their home in my home are a perfect example to me of “Let go and Let God” when I haven’t been ready to do that in other areas of my life. 🙂 I am so glad that my children have their own George.
    I love your blog, Jennifer.

So true! Thanks for the reminder. George is certainly a handsome fella. I have two quite beautiful beagle girls who are always up for an adventure…. maybe we could set them up on a blind date…. they could wiggle, scoot, scratch, chase, and play to their hearts’ content.
Tee hee! There truly is nothing like the unconditional love of a precious pet!

What a sweetie with his dirty ball! George has great taste in fabric, too.

He has not a care in the world from that photo and what a cutie. Dogs are our little special treasure of happiness.

I love this post Jennifer! First, I love your dog, wish I could have one. I don’t have the discipline to take care of a dog but just having kids sure makes you realize how totally pointless trying to keep things perfect really is! It’s totally freeing when you realize how not important that is compared to the things that really make life worth living…Thanks, as always, for your wisdom and beautiful perspective.

I just love your dog, he is adorable. He should meet our goldendoodle Louis, they could be best buds. They look like twins.

  11. precious. we, too, love our pets…two poodles…not fru-fru, but fluffy, male…well, perfect little dogs. love them despite and poopoo or peepee accidents too. i can have a spotless house when the children are gone.

I love this! And oh do I know what you mean about dirty paws! I gave up the constant sweeping of the floors and rugs and now just do it once or twice a week! George is such a sweetie!

  15. Jennifer, could George get any cuter? I have a big Lab, Beau, and he pretty much gets to do what he wants. Once I look into his big sweet eyes, who am I to say NO?
That is why slipcovers were invented, right? Loved this post, it left me a big smile.:)

I’ve got a chihuahua named Shadow Dante who gets away with a lot, too. Like George, I think it’s because he’s so cute! Really, it’s like having a grandchild, and isn’t it our right to spoil the cutest members of the family?

  17. Oh Jennifer, what a wonderful post. Gotta love that George!!! He is such a gift…and one handsome (and LUCKY) fella. Thanks for reminding us that it’s waaaaay more important to live life, have fun & love one’s pets than to worry about a perfect dog-hair & paw print-free house. Life’s too short to sweat the small stuff and my four extremely furry cats remind me of that every day! We have dust kitties around here the size of volkswagons!!! Keep on lovin’ that gorgeous George!
    Love & hugs,
    Laurie
