Lynn Harris’s quilts speak to me I love how an innocent golden brown pinwheel glides over the surface of her Lucky Girl Quilt. It is indeed magical and I am always happy with the choices she makes when doing a Sis Boom Quilt. Lynn is wonderful and now has a long arm quilting machine so talk to her. I send it to her and she does the quilting. This collection reminds me of an old quilt with random pieces thrown together but it’s the darks and the lights that create the story!!! I love the navy in this collection because it grounds everything else. Thanks for the classic you created Lynn. I am in heaven….seriously!!

Here’s the remarkable tote everyone talks about in our Happy Home book. We actually have a beautiful sunhat as well to show you the versatility of quilting cottons, not just for quilts but has expanded to apparel and home dec product categories. We just adore Circa and are so glad you have decided to hoard that line because it will be years before it makes a comeback if at all. It is a classic and will live on long after the shelves are depleted. We thought we’d show you two of the projects from Happy Home done up in Circa for your viewing pleasure. As you all know I have made it my mission to get these books into every sewist’s hands so they can have fun creating all the loveliness inside these books!! I know I belabor the issue but I love that these books connect us all and inform us of the aesthetic that is Sis Boom. We love that you join us in our homage to color and all the artists that have gone before us in celebrating color!

One of my favorite things to do is to share with you the Scientific Seamstress Patterns with you. Carla Crim Just introduced the Be-bop!! For Girls and their Dolls!!!! Yes you heard me correctly. I just absolutely love this one …heck I would wear it! so pretty, so painterly like the artists smocks from back in the day. Purely and genuinely innocent and lovely!! We are so happy for her and we love that her team has been doing sew alongs and how-to’s on the Scientific Seamstress website. They will be putting zippers in this week so pay attention to the Scientific Seamstress website!! Look at the beautiful flower pin from Girls World that she designed for our book Girls World. She is the very very best their is. Carla continues to be one of the first PDF designers and consistently on the cutting edge. We are so grateful to have her in our business but more importantly in our lives. Hats off to another win Carla!! Oh What I love about her work is that she gives options, This one can be a flutter sleeve, a long sleeve, a dress, a top, lots of bang for your buck!! Check out the photos on Etsy. Sure to become a classic!!

We had a magical photoshoot with Tim Geaney our favorite photographer in the whole wide world. His photos are just soulful and touching. We can’t believe our good fortune when we get to have fun with him in the jungle or in his studio. We love a collaboration and we love trying new things, it’s how we grow into ourselves. As you can see we have disappeared for a few days and we apologize . As a designer these are the moments that are most stressful. I want to bring you the very best of Sis Boom and that means working like crazy with the stylist (Madeline) and my seamstress (Bettyann) we go until the sunsets and as most of you know I pop up early to get the inspiration on paper. We adore you all and hate when we can’t be in touch with all of you all the time. You are what make me want to raise the bar every time. Carla is busy working on a Sis Boom pattern for all of you and we are so grateful to that very busy woman. Remember to purchase all the Scientific Seamstress classic patterns on Etsy. A favorite personality of the Quilting World is Melissa Stramel , She is simply put..Lovely. She has no idea that I am a big admirer of her work and love for life. She is one of the loveliest folks I have found and she is going after her dreams which is always a positive message to carry to others. The Beloved pattern is hugely popular but because her daughter requested a ball gown she made some changes and added a couple of things and voila, she has reinvented the pattern for her daughters whimsy and now so can you! Purchase the pattern here. We love her use of Happy Land found at Hancock’s of Paducah. Just a reminder Happy Land is moving fast to make room for Circa so don’t delay your decision. Getting harder to find. Melissa thanks for delighting the world with frills and fancy!!!!
