Our intern artist Lauren Cody was commissioned to revamp the vintage Putz Houses that had seen better days. Lacking their luster Lauren went to work this past summer to renovate these little houses from the past and gave them character . Wow, they are so happy now and definitely a place I would like to live. 🙂 Love you guys. Thanks Lauren for the love you pour into these. More Houses at our show below..xo

So let’s change it up and use some of the projects from Girls World to make Holiday items. You are going to love this one. Who doesn’t love a little felt in their lives? Vintage pom poms? Ok so I got your attention. I’m sure you all remember the banner in Girls World. It was a Happy Birthday banner but I changed it up a bit to now say Merry Christmas. You will need wool felt I got mine on Etsy, stabilizer backing, diecuts from Maya Road the white flowery part, and felt letters called stickit’s mine are from ebay. Of course a Girls World Book to keep you on track. The sentiment is all yours..You make it up!! So love that you come by it means the world to me!!!
So it’s official, dates are set and I am hustling in the craft room getting ready for all of you!!!! We have some awesome ideas and they are now coming to life!! Lucky Girl will be in stock by then and you can come get you some. Because the show is early you can even make something up. I don’t mean at all to be annoying but this is truly what I am working on these days. Our Holiday Show. November 7-9 9-6 and believe me it takes elves working day and night. We start early and we work long hours to make sure we have created a worthwhile place to spend some time. So I am kicking off the calender with these trees, my new fetish!!! I love them. I hope you will come by to rest your weary Holiday feet and get excited about the Holidays. It is early this year and we just have so much to get ready!!! Please say you will come and join us. The bus went by today and it’s always a trigger for longing..It went by so fast and yet I am so grateful to be present for all of it. There is so much that can take us out of the day to day , we see it all the time. I ‘m just so glad to have felt all the good the bad and the ugly. There is something so precious about being present and available to our kids. I love mine to bits and I do miss the wonder that they experience in front of you every day..It’s exquisite. So when I saw this beautiful quilt on the beach that Jane from Maiden Jane made it made me miss their youth even more. She created something so beautiful that will be packed with memories over the years! Have you met Jane be sure to follow her she is delightful. Crazy Love is no longer being produced but lots of places carry them. Here’s one place I found. Quilt Home has a ton!!
Here’s the remarkable tote everyone talks about in our Happy Home book. We actually have a beautiful sunhat as well to show you the versatility of quilting cottons, not just for quilts but has expanded to apparel and home dec product categories. We just adore Circa and are so glad you have decided to hoard that line because it will be years before it makes a comeback if at all. It is a classic and will live on long after the shelves are depleted. We thought we’d show you two of the projects from Happy Home done up in Circa for your viewing pleasure. As you all know I have made it my mission to get these books into every sewist’s hands so they can have fun creating all the loveliness inside these books!! I know I belabor the issue but I love that these books connect us all and inform us of the aesthetic that is Sis Boom. We love that you join us in our homage to color and all the artists that have gone before us in celebrating color!

One of my favorite things to do is to share with you the Scientific Seamstress Patterns with you. Carla Crim Just introduced the Be-bop!! For Girls and their Dolls!!!! Yes you heard me correctly. I just absolutely love this one …heck I would wear it! so pretty, so painterly like the artists smocks from back in the day. Purely and genuinely innocent and lovely!! We are so happy for her and we love that her team has been doing sew alongs and how-to’s on the Scientific Seamstress website. They will be putting zippers in this week so pay attention to the Scientific Seamstress website!! Look at the beautiful flower pin from Girls World that she designed for our book Girls World. She is the very very best their is. Carla continues to be one of the first PDF designers and consistently on the cutting edge. We are so grateful to have her in our business but more importantly in our lives. Hats off to another win Carla!! Oh What I love about her work is that she gives options, This one can be a flutter sleeve, a long sleeve, a dress, a top, lots of bang for your buck!! Check out the photos on Etsy.
