Save the Date – Holiday Show December 8 & 9 – Last Show Ever!

Whether, you have attended the Holiday Show every year for the last 25 years or this has been on your bucket list to travel to, save the date for Friday December 8 and Saturday, December 9 because this will be Jennifer’s last show ever. Set in lovely Wilton CT in Jennifer’s rambling farmhouse, this show is not to be missed.

As always there will be Jennifer’s paintings, costume jewelry, holiday gifts galore, clothing from her East End line and more. Also a beautiful stash of vintage pillows will be available for sale to complement your beautiful homes…. highly desirable due to the antique nature of the fabrics. She is also selling her vintage fabric library; maybe the first in the country with over 3000 fabrics over 75 years old to 125 years old. She also continues the tradition of creating her sequined trees that are her best sellers over the years. Christie of Christie’s Quilting Boutique, will be there with Jennifer’s fabric, as well as Earth Angels Studios. Earth Angels travels the country showcasing fun handmade goods by contemporary female artists and vintage loot. Other artists in attendance will be illustrator and multimedia artist, Eileen Grace and crafter extraordinaire Marsha Dicostanzo. Get your holiday shopping done in one spot and support local artisans.

A portion of all proceeds will go to recovery efforts of the USVI and Puerto Rico after the devastating hurricanes hit this past September. Having grown up in the USVI and with family and friends in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean is near and dear to her heart.

So please come by come meet her, say hello, say good bye but please don’t miss this opportunity. She loves hugs and she is going to need them when she starts her new life with her husband and dog Gracie in the sunny state of Florida.

Pin Tree Tutorial

If you follow Jennifer on Instagram or Facebook, you know she has been a busy bee crafting up a storm for her upcoming Holiday Show in her home in Wilton, CT. She gets lots of requests on how she does her pin trees, so here is a quick tutorial.

Dump all varieties of sequins in a large plastic container. This is so you can have it in your lap and ready to go anytime.

blog tree

Grab yourself a Styrofoam tree in any size from a local craft store, pearlized pin heads, so you don’t have to spend extra time adding a seed bead or pearl which gets time consuming, but you can if you like; and start pinning! Jennifer starts at the bottom and works her way up, but do whatever is comfortable for you.

I’m Jennifer’s assistant, also a Jennifer, and I like to do the trees with just sequins and plain sequin pins. In fact, its my favorite project to do on a road trip. My husband appreciates it because I can still talk to him while he drives, instead of zoning out on my phone or reading a book or magazine! Here is a tree I was working on last week while we drove to Asheville, NC.

If you are planning on doing a lot of trees, order your pins from China on Ebay to make life easier. Also try using Styrofoam balls and 1/2 circles for a fun platform. You can find sequins at any craft store, but again, if you are making multiple trees it is cheaper to order in bulk off a site like Cartwight’s.

Here is a display of trees Jennifer did recently. Don’t they look amazing on display? We hope you enjoy the trees as much as we do. Let us know how it goes and give us a holla in the comments or tag us on social media. Thanks for stopping by!

Banner in Girls World

So let’s change it up and use some of the projects from Girls World to make Holiday items.  You are going to love this one.  Who doesn’t love a little felt in their lives? Vintage pom poms?  Ok so I got your attention.  I’m sure you all remember the banner in Girls World.  It was a Happy Birthday banner but I changed it up a bit to now say Merry Christmas.  You will need wool felt I got mine on Etsy, stabilizer backing, diecuts from Maya Road the white flowery part, and felt letters called stickit’s mine are from ebay. Of course a Girls World Book  to keep you on track.  The sentiment is all yours..You make it up!!  So love that you come by it means the world to me!!!
