STEP 1:
Peel backing off of burlap and arrange trinagle pieces on a piece of flexible poster board
STEP 2:
Peel backing and adhere chevron to triangles
STEP 3:
Peel backing off of flowers and adhere to chevron and triangles
Cut out the crown shape from your piece of poster board
Punch holes on either side of the crown
Pass some pretty seam binding ribbon through the holes … and viola!
VIOLA! A sweet little crown for our vintage friend sporting vintage fabric!
Get ready for a photo tutorial of the Valentines Bouquet you all loved. Get some valentine scrapbook paper, maybe some sheet music, some stripes if you want and you will need 18-20 gauge wire so you can glue both ends with hearts. Cut out 40 hearts and 40 backs to those hearts. Place hearts on either end of 12″ wire stem put scrapbook paper and sheet music back to back and sandwich in the wire. Use a 2″ punch for best results! See supplies below, very easy project.
Picking up where we left off..
Okay so you have your hearts on wires now so fold the bunch in half, close hand around gently..bend back the hearts and flip the music sheet to the back or whatever you like the sheet music can be on top( they are on wire so whatever you choose will be on the top…press them outward (that’s why we use wire 20 gauge) then when they are all out hold with a rather firm grip and spread them to make a bouquet, so they progressively go out. , wrap ribbon around the wire once you have determined your bouquet is where you like it..use hot glue and wrap ribbon around the stem to the top..seal with hot glue..then in the middle of the bouquet put hot glue and add a button or some other vintage castoff or an old jewel..and voila Give it to the one you love!!!! Our intern artist Lauren Cody was commissioned to revamp the vintage Putz Houses that had seen better days. Lacking their luster Lauren went to work this past summer to renovate these little houses from the past and gave them character . Wow, they are so happy now and definitely a place I would like to live. 🙂 Love you guys. Thanks Lauren for the love you pour into these. More Houses at our show below..xo

So let’s change it up and use some of the projects from Girls World to make Holiday items. You are going to love this one. Who doesn’t love a little felt in their lives? Vintage pom poms? Ok so I got your attention. I’m sure you all remember the banner in Girls World. It was a Happy Birthday banner but I changed it up a bit to now say Merry Christmas. You will need wool felt I got mine on Etsy, stabilizer backing, diecuts from Maya Road the white flowery part, and felt letters called stickit’s mine are from ebay. Of course a Girls World Book to keep you on track. The sentiment is all yours..You make it up!! So love that you come by it means the world to me!!!
So it’s official, dates are set and I am hustling in the craft room getting ready for all of you!!!! We have some awesome ideas and they are now coming to life!! Lucky Girl will be in stock by then and you can come get you some. Because the show is early you can even make something up. I don’t mean at all to be annoying but this is truly what I am working on these days. Our Holiday Show. November 7-9 9-6 and believe me it takes elves working day and night. We start early and we work long hours to make sure we have created a worthwhile place to spend some time. So I am kicking off the calender with these trees, my new fetish!!! I love them. I hope you will come by to rest your weary Holiday feet and get excited about the Holidays. It is early this year and we just have so much to get ready!!! Please say you will come and join us. The bus went by today and it’s always a trigger for longing..It went by so fast and yet I am so grateful to be present for all of it. There is so much that can take us out of the day to day , we see it all the time. I ‘m just so glad to have felt all the good the bad and the ugly. There is something so precious about being present and available to our kids. I love mine to bits and I do miss the wonder that they experience in front of you every day..It’s exquisite. So when I saw this beautiful quilt on the beach that Jane from Maiden Jane made it made me miss their youth even more. She created something so beautiful that will be packed with memories over the years! Have you met Jane be sure to follow her she is delightful. Crazy Love is no longer being produced but lots of places carry them. Here’s one place I found. Quilt Home has a ton!!
Here’s the remarkable tote everyone talks about in our Happy Home book. We actually have a beautiful sunhat as well to show you the versatility of quilting cottons, not just for quilts but has expanded to apparel and home dec product categories. We just adore Circa and are so glad you have decided to hoard that line because it will be years before it makes a comeback if at all. It is a classic and will live on long after the shelves are depleted. We thought we’d show you two of the projects from Happy Home done up in Circa for your viewing pleasure. As you all know I have made it my mission to get these books into every sewist’s hands so they can have fun creating all the loveliness inside these books!! I know I belabor the issue but I love that these books connect us all and inform us of the aesthetic that is Sis Boom. We love that you join us in our homage to color and all the artists that have gone before us in celebrating color!
