SIS BOOM CLIP ART SERIES: HAPPY HOME BANNER

SIS BOOM CLIP ART SERIES: HAPPY HOME BANNER
What better way to spend a happy Friday than to make a Happy Home Banner that’s full of color, sparkle, and happiness??

This week we’re taking Sis Boom’s Glitter textures Clip Art and turning it into something magical!

The best part about these little guys? There are a TON of colors to choose from, so you can coordinate to almost any palette.

First we have to take our scalloped squares and make ’em BIGGER.  To do this, create a new file in Photoshop (or whatever photo editing program you like to use) that has a width of 11 in and a height of 8.5 in.  Copy and paste two separate scallop squares into your new document. You can really make them any size you’d like, but for mine I found a width of 355 px and height of 415 px worked well to fit two squares on each page (shown with the blue arrow above).  Print it out on a regular piece of paper (or glossy photo paper for a shinier version) – just be sure to “scale to fit” the page when printing so nothing gets cropped out!  Repeat until you have the proper number of squares (For “Happy Home” you will need 9!)

You’ll also need to cut out some letters! I decided to dust off my Cricut machine, but you can either add in the letters digitally before you print, write them on with marker yourself, or print out letters to cut out.  You’ll also need some glue & scissors to cut out your squares and glue on the letters!

To help hang up your pretty little banner, you’ll need some ribbon or sequin strands and some clothespins. I just took some regular old clothespins, covered one side in white glue, and sprinkled on some glitter to keep with our colorful, sparkly theme. Feel free to embellish any way you’d like! (For some of you, part of the appeal of these digital scallop squares might be the fact they have the pretty look of glitter, without all the mess.  If that’s the case, you can even print out some extra squares and cut out strips to glue on your clothespins)

Make a loop at each end of your ribbon, use a couple of push pins, and voila! Your home is instantly happier 🙂 🙂 🙂

Pop over to LOVE COLORFUL to see Jessica’s finished product!! Come on, ya gotta! You’ll LOVE IT!

The Boy

Here it comes the best shirt pattern for boys ever just two weeks away!  We named the pattern  Ethan after this guy in the photo here.  Ethan is the son of Jenny from Sew Pretty Dresses who you all know so well!  You may recall Ethan’s sister, Kelsey is one of our all time favorite models and she loves everything Sis Boom. Here she is supporting her brother’s debut. We love Jenny and the love she brings to everything she does what can I say it just shows.  So the Ethan will be also available for men as the Marco and I know that you are all waiting for that as well.  Oh and this fabric from West Indies is perfect for these shirts it’s called  Luca and can be found at Cotton Blossom Farm , Ebay, Etsy, and Hawthorne Threads.

Everyone is so inspired by everyone else and we are so appreciative when someone puts a signature twist on their collection..Beautiful. Follow sweet Cat on facebook.

Tickles me!!

Zabtree Couture you have quite the eye.  OMG it takes a special vision to put these fabrics together in this ingenious way but I think the theorey is if you love it others will too.  I never would have put these together but omg I can’t stand it ,thrilled with the outcome and I know it is going to inspire others to really just may I say “CLASH”  if it feels right do it!!!  Sometimes a matchy matchy world can close us off from amazing options but friends of Sis Boom all know to do whatever their heart calls them to do!  We see it over and over with the folks highlighted on the blog.  We love your signature, we want to see what you are up to!!  These photos give permission for others to do the same.  I get in trouble because I’m not so matchy matchy but my heart flattens a bit when all the blues match, takes the fun out of creativity.  There is an energy that we don’t see other places when folks express themselves in this colorful way.  Zabtree you rock my casbah!! Theresa Abel Martin you go girl. Find her on facebook.

PS. take a look at the lining of the dress!

Send us your photos join the conversation on facebook.

Starts Monday

Look at these beautiful bubble Rompers from Presley Grey a new boutique on FB.  FB lit up like a switchboard when she posted these beauties. She is the wonderful     Jennifer Radcliff Gouffon   that took this wonderful fabric design and used it’s proportions to perfection.   We are blown away by the outcome and are certain she will have no hard time selling these when the bell goes of Monday Morning.      These fabrics are around but being eaten up like mad so please make sure you hoard.  I don’t say that lightly in true Sis Boom obsession style we have friends bidding on a retired Sis Boom classics for upwards of $100.00 + per yard..not kidding  I won’t even post the fabric for fear they will come for me and my family!! :))  Seriously it gives me a big head but that’s about it.  It’s fun to be a legacy in my own mind.  Presley Grey we are so glad to know you and be a part of Monday’s launch..Gogettum!!!! Presley Grey website here. Serious beauty.  Fabrics found here.    and here.

Quilt Chat

The highly anticipated Circa is coming ask your beloved Quilt Shop to carry this wonderful line that is transcending pre-order history before this line I never heard of stores taking pre-orders.  I am anticipatin all of your lovlies and I can hardly wait to see your swoonworthy goods.  Not to tease but to share this is a lovely design quilted by Marsha Moore for Circa.  We are so excited to share this with you and all of the Circa quilts that have been created.  We love the quilters of the Sis Boom community who all envision something different.  We are so blessed that they love sharing with all of you.  Thanks to Lynn Harris and Monique Reynolds as well and please watch facebook as we continue to promote these quilts as Circa Debuts.

What I’m talking about.

It’s a new world, it’s a new day and we are blessed to be part of these new emerging times.  Check out Judy Buchanan shedding light on the wonderful Jane in Superfly. Remember, Judy is your source for purchasing items if you don’t sew. Shop her adorable and wonderful selection HERE on ETSY, or contact her directly here.

Loving these bold prints juxtaposed with this Shabby Chic Interior.  We get to choose. How lovely is that?  There used to be so many rules. My mom reminds me of them all the time- mostly that everything from one era stayed in that era and that you didn’t mix. Now it’s so much more eclectic and we define our own style in making choices.  In my mind, there is a fresh breath in Judy’s take on the world and it is shown over and over on our facebook page.  She has style.

I hope you will join us on facebook— join the conversation, because everyone there wants to meet you and we are all saving a place for you.  If you love what we do here just stop in and meet like-minded friends.

So, here are some portraits from Georgia Handy’s latest photo shoot. (See more Georgia Handy HERE).  The brilliance of this combo below can’t be denied.  Your photographer and his interpretation is everything- that’s why I so love Mr. Tim Geaney who photographed both of our books, Girls World and Happy Home.  Purchase them for less than $35.00 on Amazon! (Now, that’s unheard of!).

Hoping for signed copies? Look no further – visit our shop.

SIS BOOM CLIP ART SERIES: SPRING PLACECARD HOLDERS

It’s Friday!! Happy Friday!! Here’s our girl Jessica of Love Colorful, with an awesome place card holder project using our Sis Boom Spring Egg CLIP ART download!

These eggs are an awesome diy project for the little kids when you want to stay away from messy egg dying & drying..

Hey everyone! For this week’s Sis Boom Clip Art Series I’ve got a quick & easy project that’s perfect to jazz up your Easter table!

Featuring:

For this project, you will need:

Sis Boom Spring Eggs Clip Art file (printed out on glossy photo paper with names added  – you can do this digitally before you print, or use a permanent marker/stickers to add them in after)
-empty toilet paper rolls
-colored paper
-hot glue
-Easter grass
-tissue paper, ribbon, and assorted candies/confetti/trinkets

Start by cutting out a piece of colored paper to fit around the TP roll. Add a strip of hot glue where you start, and some where you finish so the paper completely covers the roll.  Use a variety of colors to match your decor!

Next take some Easter grass and hot glue some to one side of the roll.  (and cut out your eggs!)

Glue your eggs on next!

Take a piece of decorative tissue paper and fill with an assortment of treats and confetti. Roll it up, tie both ends with some ribbon, and you’re good to go! How easy was that? 🙂

THANKS JESSICA!! … Now go to Love Colorful to see the beautiful finished product that Jessica made. You have a couple weeks to make yours… and $5 gets you Sis Boom eggs for life! Keep them and print them every year!

Have FUN!
