Having grown up in the Virgin Islands, Jennifer has always embraced the world of mismatched patterns. They were a dominant part of the world around her, showing up in layers of different cloth as well as the distinctive head wraps of her homeland’s Cruzan culture. Textiles played a huge role in her early aesthetic development and are the foundation for her designs and their signature saturated colors.
As Jennifer explains it, “Built of florals, a huge Fleur de Lis, a wonderful check, two-tone wood cuts, and rhythmic lines; this collection works together effortlessly and allows the color harmonies to impart a strong island vibe.”

Sew 4 Home made this delightful round piped pillow with a gathered top and I couldn’t be more in love. Comfortable, colorful and easy to make. The darling contrasting covered button and piping is icing on the cake!
They used 2 fabrics from an oldie but goodie Sis Boom line called Happy Land. Since Happy Land can be hard to find these days, may I recommend our newest line of fabric, Caravelle Arcade? It launched at the beginning of May and would be perfect for this project!

Caravelle Arcade was an open pavilion of shops in St. Croix and as a young girl I was window dresser to many!! Probably making a dollar an hour I sweat inside glass cases to drape and perfect my visual talents little did I know it was prepping me for the big time store Bonwit Teller!! This island this special island in the Caribbean Sea was home to my family for many years. I think you can tell through the years of my work I have never left my past behind me it lives on through my textiles!!! Homage to St. Croix where the gifts keep on giving. Ships in May!! 2015.

I’ll give you a hint: It’s not Jennifer’s high school crush, Donny Osmond, that we’re excited about! It’s the pillow featured directly above him that has us jumping for joy!
That’s right, that Jonathan Adler-esque pillow is one that our very own Sis Boom gal, Jennifer Paganelli, designed for Peking Handicraft! So cool, right?! Jen even told me that her inspiration for the design came from the back of a vintage playing card from the 1940s!
