We are thrilled to be in this month’s issue of Homespun magazine out of Australia. Older fans might recognize this photo from a few years ago, but it’s a timeless idea worth sharing again. Here, Jennifer used her grandmother’s yo-yo quilt for the upholstered headboard. You know how we love mixing vintage looks with the new here at Sis Boom! Pillows by Jennifer for Peking Handicraft. Photo by the uber talented Tim Geaney.
Below is a picture of the magazine cover. Its worth seeking out for our Australian fans. Interested fans outside of Australia can download a digital copy as well. It’s a lovely issue loaded with ideas. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Welcome to the World Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge! We are so happy you are here!!! Our newest Sis Boom Room is worthy of a Princess or anyone who wants to feel like a royal. An airy white rattan chair brings the outside in, while celebratory drinks in honor of the princess can be served in cheerful bubble glasses resting on darling knitted coasters on this fabulous textured rattan tray. No British royal room is complete without the Union Jack, so we added it TWICE in pink and red on our very own Sis Boom rug and embroidered pillow. Simply smashing, darling! Finally set the mood with a fun candle from Mod Cloth and play your favorite tunes (may we suggest the Beatles?) on this vintage portable radio, mp3 device friendly of course. A lovely coffee table book on looking dapper on the golf course and an orange mod planter rounds out the room. Brilliant!
How do you like that? Fabrics misbehaving..acting like very expensive fabric and giving the same intense rich feel at $10.00……Good thing quilting cottons are a secret. Seriously..why pay more!!!! I’ll take $80.00 over $800.00 any day!!! Christy Bennett with her ruffles and frills and her etsy shop filled with all things Drapery is the best friend a girl could have cause she gets it!! She does rooms professionally and I’m sure she’d do them virtually!! Talk to her! Get that Modern Romantic feel the way only Christy can!! Love you girl!!
Could your home use a little WHAM? A tad of POW? A smattering of WOWZA?! Stick with us… We are NOT afraid of color and we would love to show you how it’s done. Chances are, if you’re a Sis Boom fan, you’ve already got it goin’ on…
In this Sis Boom room we paired a few key elements that make our hearts tick…
By combining bold graphics, such as stripes, geometrics, ikats, and mod furnishings, we’ve created a little virtual haven of aaaaaah. If only we could snap our fingers and bring it to life! Like what you see?
OMG stoppit, IKEA. Are you serious with this incredible, green, velvet couch?! I can’t.. Its color, its texture, its attitude… a trifecta of perfection. Next best thing? Sis Boom pillows, clearly… with a few more IKEA splashes, a dash of Anthropologie, a smattering of Layla Grayce, and a sweet book to top it all off, we’re pretty sure this is a perfect Sis Boom SPRING room. The sun is shining and we are HAPPY!
Close your eyes and imagine that your snuggled up on this couch with some fresh cookies and a warm Spring breeze. Perfecto.

Oh hello sweet little baby that would LOVE this Sis Boom Baby room. I know you’re somewhere out there!
Inspired by this adorable (virtual) baby quilt– with B for Baby, of course– this room is based on a portion of the Beauty Queen palette which brings pale yellows, powdery blues, punchy pinks and great greens together harmoniously.
Does it get sweeter than that little Jenny Lind crib? How about the adorable gnome lamp… and the plush is to die for! Feeling extra creative? Make your own plush Georgie from Girl’s World! … Now all this room needs is a darling little babe.
