What I love About You

Jenny with a J represents all of us who have a vision and a day at a time we are beginning to see that vision grow!  She is making a difference right on her blog and contributing so much to others by sharing her experience.  She is someone who brings others along.  Her generous spirit is what I admire in so many of you.  It’s not easy to juggle it all and then there are always dishes..am I right??  Jenny smiles all the way through and you can tell her time sewing brings her incredible joy.  Thank God we all wake up to something we look forward to..CREATING!!  That is a gift.  Miss Kelsey is her muse and she dresses her so beautifully with her designs.  Jenny collects Sis Boom fabrics and knows that they all get along nicely so she pulls out fabrics from various collections and spins her magic.  This one in particular blows me away and now that her daughter is getting taller she can use more fabric and the result is sensational.  These all together create such drama and intrigue!  I love the pattern and eventually as the kids get older we will have  some amazing patterns coming from this talented lady.  Get your daily dose of Sew Pretty Dresses here!!

Country Living Fair

What to say about this fair???  It’s an incredibly good time.  Everyone is there to have a good time and they are so excited about their purchases!!!  I signed sooooo many books!!! I love getting to know you all. So many special people came by the booth and I was so touched by your sweet words and kindness.  Apparently in Columbus you can’t get enough Sis Boom fabric.  Seriously I can’t thank you enough.  Tom and his daughter Leighanna who the Leighanna pattern is named after were in the front row of my main stage presentation (just like last year) supporting me and encouraging me. (We missed you Angie) and even modeling their handmade Crazy Love Leighanna!!  It doesn’t get any better.  To all of you who visited and those who wanted too but couldn’t viral big hugs..I can feel the love.  Below is Tom’s princess dress so beautifully crafted I just had to share.  Oh and that’s me and Leighanna on the bottom. Just love that girl.  oh and don’t tell Carla we developed a great peasant top for big bums……that’s me in the SuperFly top.  Tom Jordan shout out!!! His shop!! HeavenleighBlessings!

Thank you Columbus for your big welcome to Sis Boom and the lovely Earth Angels.  We can never thank you enough!!  The Country Living Fair is near and dear to our hearts and you always make us feel so good.  I get to travel with the most impressive group of women in the craft world and Jen O’Conner is amazing at discovering great talent.  We are there the whole weekend except maybe for bathroom breaks so I am so dang tired but will look forward to next year because it’s so much fun.  We taught a bunch of simple crafts and you guys were so thirsty for some new projects.  So I’m kicking back today celebrating all of you and grateful you all are loving Happy Home.  Also a salute to my comrades at Folk Magazine for helping load the truck at the end of the day.. Helloooooo???? Can we get some handlers for next year????? I’m so sore!!  Give me a few days!!! xoxoxo

Autumn-ize that Angie!!

Hi everyone! It’s still Madeline here, as Jen is representing Sis Boom over in Ohio at the Country Living Fair! (Go Jen!!!!)

Let’s talk clothes… More specifically, Sis Boom patterns.. ohh yeahh!

The whole process is so magical, is it not?! From the first step of choosing your pattern… to selecting the most perfect fabric with the most wonderful and right-on colors, ideal scale, and personality that suits you better than you had ever imagined… to the time spent at the sewing machine.. and then finally, the moment you slip that garment on and stand back with a smile on your face. Magic!! How much fun is that?!

I wanted to chose a pattern today and showcase some accessories that can enhance the look and take it right into Autumn.

My  choice is the Angie Dress. Ideal by itself for the warmer Summer months, Angie can really work year round. For those of you who aren’t ready to put it away for the cooler months ahead, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered! BTW, as I come up with this look, I totally have Katie in mind… how beautiful is she in these photos!! I’m hoping this is an outfit she’d love to wear. Maybe I’ll take her shopping when she comes home for her next break! (sorry, Jen! haha!)

So, either get that Angie out and start accessorizing!… OR if you don’t have one, it’s time to MAKE ONE! Happy Sunday 🙂 xo Madeline
