Poodle Lights Up!

We think there must be some Poodle love in the air… because it’s popping up everywhere we turn! This one is especially exciting..

So this beautiful, awesome online boutique, Ada & Darcy designed a stunning lampshade featuring Poodle’s very own Marnie in Blue. That clean, modern, sophisticated lampshade was then featured in the fabulous British edition of Adore Home Magazine!!!! We ♥♥♥ how Adore Home paired the Marnie lampshade with a cluster of blues and reds, and made this print kid friendly! Way to go!

Something to LOVE

We spotted something very special on a very special blog… Weblog of an Ordinary Woman… and might we add that this “Ordinary Woman” is a rather extraordinary woman!!!… She whipped up TWO maternity tops in ONE day… and what was so cool…?! One of them is in Poodle! The extraordinary woman shares that the pattern was made with Newlook 6887. How fun!

Check out her blog for tons of inspiration on adorable little baby clothes, clothes for mom-to-be, and Mother – Daughter matching outfits!!!

psssst…. February is less than 24 hours away! The Official month of LOVE!! Get ready!

Roll it, Bake it & Mark it With a P…

…And put it in the oven for Poodle and Me! How darling is this apron!! It’s like a breath of fresh air. We borrowed the lovely apron photos from Pretty Little Pearl on Flickr – and what a fabulous job she does.

Can’t you see yourself whipping up delectable muffins in this cute little number! The sweetheart neckline and adorable bow accent scream Betty Draper!

Thanks for joining us in paying some attention to Poodle… We heard that our dearest Poodle was craving some attention ever since Queen Street and Honey Child came into the picture … 🙂

Renewal in the House

Craving renewal in a certain area of your home? Is there a room that’s feeling stagnant and needs a quick, easy change? Something really affordable, fun, and special that we love doing here at Sis Boom is stretching fabric over a large canvas and turning it into a quicky wall piece!

Here we used Poodle, to add a splash of color and geometric fun. (note, scale is not exactly the same as our fabric since this is a digital rendition). How pretty!

Materials: Fabric, Stretched Canvas, Staple Gun, Empty Wall, about 20 minutes.

  1. Pick up a large canvas (online or local craft store)
  2. Cut your desired piece of fabric- measure about 3 inches longer & wider than canvas
  3. Using a staple gun (careful!) stretch the fabric over the canvas and staple it in the back — Tip: This works best if you constantly stretch from opposite corners… in other words, stretch from the top – then staple, then the bottom – then staple, then right- staple, left- staple. Keep going around and stapling until you have a nice tight, even pull.
  4. Tap a nail in the wall
  5. hang up your masterpiece
  6. Viola!

Featuring your faves!!!

We have Melissa to thank for this sweet purse which will be a tutorial on her site at some future time and Aunt Spicy for the wonderful quilt with contrasting white squares and Monique for the adorable purpaly (a new descriptive word from Sis Boom) goodness on the dresser, which if you are lucky will be available in her etsy shop… All three of these gals make my world a fun place to be.  Thanks always for the Sis Boom love because I know you guys are infectious.
