A Quilter’s Best Friend!

Want to make a quilt with something that’s already kinda really sorta quilty? It only adds to the quilty-ness of the quilt (say that 10 times in a row!), and if you haven’t already noticed– it was featured on the cover of Girl’s World and created by the fabulous and talented Nancy Geaney!!!!

It’s Kimberly from Dance With Me!! You’ve probably been so consumed with all of the beauty the cover has to offer and so we’ve made it easier for you to spot it…

We had so many inquiries about what was believed to be a quilt pattern of the lovely quilt that rests on the bed behind out sweet little girl on the cover of Girl’s World… but the sneaky truth is that the fabric itself, which is Kimberly from Dance With Me already looks like a quilt on its own!

Two Hip Hippos’ Flickr post and beautiful quilt design inspired this blog post!! We wanted to share this fabulous concept with all of you… even though you are all super cool and totally with-it and probably already know!

Borrowed from Two Hip Hippos Flickr Photostream

As many of you know, and some may not, we are excitedly awaiting our next line, West Indies!!!! We promise to have it up on the site asap, but in the meantime, enjoy this bit of eye candy by our dear friend Nancy Geaney.

Would you all take a look at this amazing West Indies Quilt she created?!??!

This quilt is called the Voodoo magic quilt, and it’s obvious why– Yes, those pieces that look like they’re popping off the quilt actually are! Nancy is quite the quilt magician.

Nancy, you’ve really outdone yourself this time! Can’t you just see yourself sipping a tall glass of lemonade whilst sitting on this quilt, picnic style?! We can too!

Read Nancy’s Blog post, as she shares her inspiration for the quilt, a fun technique she used for the quilt, and where you can see a video tutorial as to make something like this at home!

Oklahoma!!!

What an honor to have been featured like this at the Oklahoma Quilt Show!!! Word has it that Honey Child was loved by all and that Girl’s World sold out!

What a STUNNING presentation! Make our day, why don’t ya!

Get a Hold of THIS!

One of the wonderful women we were able to spend time with at our Sis Boom signing & show was the lovely Jeanne Simms. You can only see a piece of her hands here as she holds up her stunning quilt! Yes, that’s right, the quilt master is hiding behind her beautiful work of art! … OR, wait?! Maybe that’s Jennifer.. I recognize that toe nail polish!!!

Either way, the quilt master herself, Jeanne, brought this beautiful quilt along to show us what she had been up to and we insisted on putting it on the blog for all of you to admire!

Want to tell her how awesome it is or ask her about making one? She doesn’t have a blog, but you can certainly email her by clicking HERE

From Fat Quarters to a Beautiful Masterpiece

It just amazes me what people can create from a stack of fat quarters. To have the vision, the will, and the patience to sit down and design something so perfect and so lovely is simply magic. TakeĀ  a peep at this stunning Queen Street quilt designed by a dear friend, Victoria Findlay of Bumble Beans. We’re loving the shape that the center took on, as it is festive and reminds us a bit of the Holiday, which is just hours away at this point!

Sending you all peace during these last few crazy days of shopping, wrapping and stressing! I hope each and every one of you can find some time for yourselves to sit back, relax, and take some deep, peaceful breaths! Do it right now if you haven’t!
