New Draperies!

In my Chalkboard room I’ve put up some new curtains.  Using our Happy Home as inspiration I now have new draperies and I couldn’t be any happier.  Everything looks great with Super Fly it gives bounce and pizzazz wherever it turns up!!  Do you have any designs on doing drapery for your home???  Make them yourself and save thousands of dollars.  That’s why folks fall in love with Happy Home.

Like I was saying..

We are so grateful for all of the wonderful messages of love and support of all we do here at Sis Boom.  The blog tours for Girls World and Happy Home have been genius and we couldn’t ask for better peeps to host us.  Every day is a day to be grateful and to give thanks.  We are a humble lot and are always so excited when there is a Sis Boom Sighting anywhere in the world. We never take anything for granted.  So many fabrics to choose from , so many decisions to make, so we are always so amazed when we see our fabrics.  It never gets old.  So thank you to all of you.  So yesterday when Daily Candy followed us on twitter and wrote a post on Happy Home we were so giddy.  Daily Candy in my estimation is the best of the best and works at bringing the best to it’s audience.  So imagine the screams heard round the world.  Thanks again to everyone that helps us get the word out.  We are little but we got big dreams and because of all of you they are coming true.  Have a wonderful wonderful day!

Happy Home Photo Challenge!

In honor of my new book, Happy Home, hitting the shelves, I thought it’d be fun to host my first-ever photo challenge!

I hope you’ll all play along because there are lots of exciting prizes to win and I can’t wait to see the spaces you’ve created in each of your happy homes!!

A little bit about Happy Home
My new book, Happy Home, will guide you through the fun process of whipping up beautiful accessories that will transform your space into a special, colorful, and of course, happy space. With simple step-by-step instructions, a glossary of techniques, pattern sheets tucked into a handy front pocket, and lush color photos, the book makes it easy to pretty up every room in your house.

The Happy Home Photo Challenge details
Each week I’ll share a challenge and give you a few days to take a fun shot with your phone or camera. Once you have the perfect shot, just sent it to me at contest@sisboom.com or Tweet it to me at @SisBoom. In doing so, be sure to use the hashtag #HappyHome!

I’ll choose the best submission and feature the winner on my blog and my facebook page. There will be three challenges (one per week, each listed below) and three weekly winners. At the end, I’ll choose one grand-prize winner from the three weekly winners to enjoy a very special prize.

You are all the best..

You know how to rev us up!!  You rush in wanting to see Super Fly and all the other Sis Boom fabrics that we have and start dreaming of all your quilts and ideas you have.  Where do you get all that energy.  What moves me most are the women in their 80’s and 90’s that have switched to color and love creating Modern quilts.  They inspire me!!!  the most loveliest and sincerest group of folks you ever met. bunch in the lot and I am so delighted that they love our fabrics that they will come for miles.  That is the gift inside the day.

So back to the blogroll we go and Monique is up and dazzling as always she’s put Happy Home to work for here and created the loveliest apron!  I’m also including a baby bed she put together with Sis Boom fabrics for baby Yasmin in Australia! Ask Monique anything!!!!  Fabric found here !

A Very Exciting Moment

As we all know it takes a ton of rejection to get that one moment.  So grateful for it!  It was a ton of fun and would love to have the opportunity again but one thing I do know is that life will unfold and I will show up. Letting Go is never easy but when you trust and have faith all things work out.  My mom taught me that!!

So here we are Madeline and I ,my husband is working hard in the background and my children are watching in suspense.  We did it.  Nailed it and all because my co host Madeline with the long flowy hair in the beautiful Sis Boom dress she designed,  kept me on track, kept me rehearsing, kept the props coming and told me I could do it.

Thanks to all you beautiful people in my life who keep it real , throw caution to the wind and act real silly.  You are my heros!!

Sis Boom Girl, Kate!

Likes:
Reading design magazines and dreaming of redecorating; vacationing at the beach; the bright, energetic colors that are in for spring and summer – tangerine, neon pink and turquoise; that perfect pair of high heels that are sexy and comfortable; yummy smelling candles – I love the selection at Anthropologie, freshly made mojitos on a hot summer day!

Dislikes:
Commuting, cold weather, cleaning, overhead florescent lights, the color mauve.

What I do:
My day job is in marketing for an architectural firm, but what I really love to do is find amazing vintage furnishings and accessories for my Etsy shop – Behind the Orange Door

My favorite things:
My family, snuggling on the couch, Kate Spade wallets, travel!

What I love about Sis Boom
The happy colors and gorgeous designs – I especially love the Marnie and Jane prints.  The designs are timeless, but the unexpected color combinations make them young and fresh!  Oh and Georgie the dog!
