Six Popular Bloggers Launch New e-Zine Aimed at Modern Sewists

April 12, 2010 – The authors of six blogs popular for their modern sewing and quilting projects have teamed up to launch a new e-zine featuring quilt patterns, interviews with top fabric designers, previews of upcoming modern fabric lines, and more.

Fat Quarterly is a collaboration between Kate Dixon (One Flew Over…), Katy Jones (I'm a Ginger Monkey), Brioni Greenberg (Flossyblossy), Tacha Bruecher (Hanies), Aneela Hoey (Comfortstitching) and John Adams (Quilt Dad).

"With Fat Quarterly, we hope to provide a source of ideas and inspiration for anyone interested in the modern sewing and quilting aesthetic", says Ms. Dixon. "We have assembled a truly global team with diverse skills and styles, but connected by a love of handmade items and of sharing the joys of creating with others."

Fat Quarterly will officially launch when its first issue is available on Tuesday, April 27th. This introductory issue will be packed with exciting and original content including six brand new patterns for modern quilts and other sewing projects, designer interviews and previews of six upcoming fabric lines, book reviews, a report from the British Quilts exhibit at the Victoria & Albert museum, amazing giveaways of some of the fabric and books featured in the magazine, and much, much more.

The publication will be released four times per year.

Jenny with a J

Most of you know Sis Boom's very own Starlit Jenny with a J.  Super energy, super sewer, super mom and super friend.  Jenny makes the Sis Boom rounds before me.  She's always there to spirit the new sewer and without getting paid tells them the virtues of sewing with Sis Boom fabric!!!!  She's the marketer behind the fabrics and loves everything colorful.  Little did she know her daughter Kelsey was picking up all her bad habits and claiming all the pretty fabrics for herself.  She's got a fight ahead of her.  So look what this Sis Boom cheerleader whipped up for herself and Kelsey for Mother's Day….and how about that son of hers with a camera in front of the neighbors house!!! It's all good.  We love this family and if you've been touched by Jenny's big heart give a shout to her here and Sew Pretty Dresses she's always up for a chat. Thank you once again ladies!!

She had too!!!

Thank God it's not a crime to love fabric or this gal would be in a jail cell!!!!  I love this girl !  She barely had the box open of her So St. Croix fabrics when she said she just had the urge to start cutting.  If you are attempting this beauty below than I guess it's all ok!!  So meet a fellow blogger named Katy who has the same passion as all of you.   Katy's blog is so adorable ,she's an inspired quilter who lets the fabrics choose their way.  Love getting to know you Katy and thanks for this beautiful simple patch that makes the colors pop!!!  So keep your eyes on 'I'm a Ginger Monkey'.
