The Quilt Show has it goin’ on! Starting on Friday…

International Quilting Day is just around the corner on Saturday, March 16, and Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, hosts of The Quilt Show, want quilters, sewers and crafters to help us celebrate International Quilting Day by seeing what’s going on in today’s quilting world.  They are opening up free access to over 140 of their shows from their www.thequiltshow.com website beginning Friday, March 15, through Sunday, March 17, and there will be terrific prizes from companies we know and love like Bernina, GAmmill, Superior Threads, AccuQuilt, C&T Publishing, RJR Fabric.  Ricky and Alex will have gift baskets to give away too.  The grand prize is a new Bernina 550QE sewing machine!

All you have to do is go to the website on Friday, March 15, and there will be a place to click and sign up as a free member, register for the prize give aways, and have fun cruising around the website.  You’ll want to wish for rain so you can stay home in your pajamas and immerse yourself in show after show.  There will be all kinds of quilt-related things going on at The Quilt Show all weekend long so stop by the website several times over the three days.  Help Ricky and Alex in their celebration of quilters around the world and all things quilted!

It’s Monday and here we go!!!

The raffle begins so please listen while I explain the details.  First we can share the project we created with Accuquilts Go Baby. Also these are some of the dies we used. I love this machine reminds me of an Easy Bake on so many levels!!! I love applique, I love it on ticking something wonderfully appealing about the old with the cut outs!! Oh  and please forgive Penelope she wanted so much to be in the photo and was a little concerned that you may not see her if she wasn’t directly in front of the camera..oh well you get the point.  I also used the appliques on squares of green to give them some contrast on the ticking.  Anyway I’m pleased as punch and hope you are too.

So for the raffle there’s lots of ways to enter and they are as follows.  First sign up for their email and get 22 patterns for doing that simple task.  Then go to these links and say hi.  Most importantly leave a comment here to enter to win one of these die-cut machines..Yes you heard me correctly

Go, Baby, Go!

Heyyy all! Ok so not to make you super jealous or anything, but I got to spend the entire morning with my most awesome, special friend Kate Spain! (ok so you can be a little bit jealous 😉 )

Not only did we chat and laugh a lot, but we got to craft together!! You see, the fabulous Accuquilt gifted me with this wonderful machine called the Go! Baby.  This sweet little tool comes with several die cuts and helps you create fabric shapes in the blink of an eye!… seriously!

It’s an awesome tool for any crafter, sewer, quilter or scrap-booker (and more!). It doesn’t stop there– My girlfriend Kate tought me about heat bond for Appliques. I used the heat bond on the back of my shapes and I am ready to go! I am SO hooked and haven’t stopped all day! My dies included hearts, puppies and circles. (And ps guess what!– the circles would be great for making yo-yos!)

There’s More!!!!

So here’s the deal. I’ll be working on a special project featuring the Go, baby. When that project is complete, I’ll post it here on the blog and simultaneously host a raffle!!! One winner will win… are you ready for this… a GO BABY MACHINE! Yeah! You read it right!

Keep coming back, the project will be up within the next few weeks!
