Sis Boom in Homespun Magazine

headboard

We are thrilled to be in this month’s issue of Homespun magazine out of Australia. Older fans might recognize this photo from a few years ago, but it’s a timeless idea worth sharing again. Here, Jennifer used her grandmother’s yo-yo quilt for the upholstered headboard. You know how we love mixing vintage looks with the new here at Sis Boom! Pillows by Jennifer for Peking Handicraft. Photo by the uber talented Tim Geaney.

Below is a picture of the magazine cover. Its worth seeking out for our Australian fans. Interested fans outside of Australia can download a digital copy as well. It’s a lovely issue loaded with ideas. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We are honored she made a dress in Sis Boom’s newest line, Nostalgia shipping next month, with amazing lace trim and button details for her daughter. Seriously, how amazing are these photos and the dress on her cutie patootie daughter??

Job Perks

Can you keep a secret? Since I totally trust my Paganelli Peeps, I’m going to let it all out…just don’t tell my boss…

You guys, I have the BEST job in the world! I get to be surrounded by incredible people and breathtaking fabrics all day. We chat, we work, we craft, there are puppies here…what more could you ask for? I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have landed a job with Sis Boom that if someone dared me to eat dirt, I’d totally do it!

So, what has me jumping for joy today? The answer is: the job perks, of course!

Yesterday the most incredible dress arrived at the office and I got to try it on!!

patchwork

This patchwork Good Company (in stores November 2014) dress was inspired by a J.Crew silhouette and the seamstress absolutely nailed it! Not only was it super comfortable, but it ended up being super convenient during a business meeting as well. When speaking about Jennifer’s upcoming line, Good Company (did I mention it will be available in stores November 2014), I simply stood up to reveal what was to come!

What else did I do for the hour I spent in the dress? Craft and snap some selfies, of course!

Hope everyone enjoys the sneak peek at the collection!

Cover Girl!

Look who made the cover of this month’s Summer Markets Highlights Magazine:

Home-accents

I’ll give you a hint: It’s not Jennifer’s high school crush, Donny Osmond, that we’re excited about! It’s the pillow featured directly above him that has us jumping for joy!

pillow

That’s right, that Jonathan Adler-esque pillow is one that our very own Sis Boom gal, Jennifer Paganelli, designed for Peking Handicraft! So cool, right?! Jen even told me that her inspiration for the design came from the back of a vintage playing card from the 1940s!

Caribbean Colors: 2014 Emmy Awards

If you don’t already know, the bold, vibrant, joyful and stunning colors used in all of Jennifer’s lines are a tribute to her time growing up in the Caribbean.  That’s right, Jennifer grew up in St. Croix! How cool is that?! Bold colors are popping up all over the place these days and we want to share with you some of our favorites! Here is our first installment of a new series called Caribbean Colors! Today our focus will be the 2014 Emmy Awards! Here are our winners for Best Dressed in Caribbean Colors on a Red Carpet:

Sis Boom Bed!

Hi Everyone!

As I previously mentioned, my professional background includes putting together bedding collections.  In fact, long before I joined Sis Boom, I was using Jennifer’s lines to make duvets, sheet sets, dust ruffles, upholstered headboards, toss pillows, curtains and more! While my mind automatically sees a large scale floral and thinks “duvet,” you guys turn the same exact print into the most beautiful clothing, quilts, aprons, shower curtains, etc. I have ever seen! I am CONSTANTLY blown away by your creativity. Since you have been so gracious in sharing your creations with us, I’d thought I’d share with you how my mind views a brand new Jennifer Paganelli collection. And speaking of brand new, I will be using fabrics that can be found in her upcoming “Good Company” line to be released in November 2014.

Another great suggestion is using a large bold pattern for an upholstered headboard like these:

and use a combination of solid colors found in the print as your duvet!

An upholstered headboard can be found in Happy Home by Jennifer Paganelli!

Keep your creations coming! We love seeing them!!

There’s a New Girl in Town

Hello fellow Sis Boom admirers! My name is Lisa and I am the newest addition to Team Sis Boom! From here on out one of my many tasks here will be to serve as your Style Maven! We’ll talk about the latest trends in fashion, fabrics, furniture and many more things that don’t necessarily start with an “F”. Before we get to that, here’s a little bit about me: I grew up in Connecticut with a fierce passion for design.  While I studied creative writing my background includes running a children’s shop, bedding design, interior design, visual merchandising and being a pretty awesome Aunt to 4 little girls and 1 little man. In 2008 I caught a glimpse of my very fist Sis Boom design (in the collection “Bell Bottoms”) and instantly became a fan!  To quote my brand new Twitter account (www.twitter.com/lbeesa) I’m a “lover of laughter, textiles, elephants, pineapples, triangles, the beatles and much, much more!”  I am thrilled to be working side by side with Jennifer and Co. and cannot wait to meet and speak with each and every one of you!

For my first post I’ve decided to let my OCD get the best of me and bring something to your attention….Have you noticed that the dots featured in JennyEliza on the JoAnn Fabrics website look enormous?!? I promise you they are not! The image shown is a highly pixelated version! I want you guys to know exactly what you’re getting so below please take a look the ACTUAL scale of the dots featured on our lovely Sophie. I’ve included the pixelated version as well for your viewing pleasure. PHEW! I feel better getting that off my chest!

Thank you so much for welcoming me into your world Sis Boom fans!

Untill next time –

Lisa
