We Love a Flying Girl!

A favorite personality of the Quilting World is Melissa Stramel , She is simply put..Lovely. She has no idea that I am a big admirer of her work and love for life.  She is one of the loveliest folks I have found and she is going after her dreams which is always a positive message to carry to others. The Beloved pattern is hugely popular but because her daughter requested a ball gown she made some changes and added a couple of things and voila, she has reinvented the pattern for her daughters whimsy and now so can you! Purchase the pattern here.  We love her use of Happy Land found at Hancock’s of Paducah.   Just a reminder Happy Land is moving fast to make room for Circa so don’t delay your decision. Getting harder to find. Melissa thanks for delighting the world with frills and fancy!!!!

Do not miss the raffle June 15th.

Around Sis Boom Town

Well Circa is about to hit and it looks like we are going to have to order more!!!  Looks like most of the yardage manufactured has been sold.  Do not worry that won’t affect you just means a party for me!!!! Seriously folks we don’t do it alone and it takes a village it takes your enthusiasm and excitement to carry it across the web and create a riot of sorts. We are passionate folks and when a line that we love resonates we can’t contain ourselves. Am I right??? So hats off to all of you!!! The good news for you is that the stores will have it that’s who consumed all the yardage.  I can’t wait to see what you create.  I want to see bridesmaids dresses and , boys ties, sunhats and amazing girls dresses so bring it on, fill my inbox with all your glory. I am standing by.  So Sis Boom Town is busy and on facebook the community is jumpin!!! We sell fabrics, dresses, clutches and a whole lot more. We hope you will like us on facebook and join the fun. Purchase our PDF patterns and our books from Chronicle cause Mother’s Day is coming.  Get fired up as one of my close friends always says.  Exciting days ahead.

The diamond Luca fabric is perfect for the boys aand men’s shirts we have them for $10.00 per yard..Holla!!

St. Croix Vibe

Look at this beauty, I would have loved a face but sometimes it’s just not a good hair day.  This is my old island roots. I love woman of color in brights it brings me back to my homeland.  And when I hear a sing songy dialect of the Caribbean islands I am somehow immediately transported to a wonderful time in my life.  This color dazzles on this woman and I’m so glad her first choice was brights.  Against her skin tone it was just all meant to be.  Sara Beth Upshaw of Molly Blossom’s is kicking it up big time in Jackson Mississippi and we couldn’t be more thrilled with this amazing silhouette!! Follow her Etsy shop and website for upcoming releases.  Pattern coming soon so stay close.  Thanks Sara for a beautiful silhouette. Crazy love fabric found here!!

Eyes and Ears, I need yours

Ok so let’s have a serious chat!!  I want to help the brick and mortars of the world.  Maybe a shout out to your local store for carrying Sis Boom fabrics or a photo of old Sis Boom stock and a location they can be found.  We have a need for old stock!!! People scour the internet day and night for our first lines.  Most will pay top dollar!  We also want to get to know you if you are carrying Sis boom fabric and get you on our locator list.  It’s hard in a world of online sellers to find a spot but we want you to know we are holding a place for you..Having a sale?? Tell us so we can let your neighborhood  know.  These quilters and clothing designers will travel!!! That much we do know.  We have an active community on facebook.  Alas the dreaded facebook but it’s amazing how fast we can get up to speed to see our favorite fabrics.  Brick and mortars, dead Sis Boom stock, can’t move, post your photos to Jennifer Byrne Paganelli and we will chat you up!!!  Better yet show us what you have and then our sewists will make the trip.  Are you a fan of Sis Boom ??? Take a photo in your favorite store that carries Sis Boom and enter to win 5 yards of Circa!!!! Ends August 31st!! We will be sharing more about that.  We want every seller to be an online seller , to be known for carrying Sis Boom.  We are an eager bunch and we love to chat!!!  Got a favorite store in your area?? Give them a shout out and tag me , tell me what town they are in and if they have a website or not. Shout out to Trains and Fabrics in Tacoma Washington, who doesn’t even do email for carrying some of our new lines. They now have a facebook page!!

Have any of these?? Folks are looking. Do you ship? Do you ship internationally?

We rave about rag quilts!

Check out this stunner from Jack and Mae!!!!  We woke up and just had to share..lots of tutorials on line just google rag quilts.  These make great gifts because they are not as labor intensive a good beginner quilt I should say.  My daughter made one at sewing camp when she was 12.  I love the mix of Bohemia and the exuberance of color.  Such a beauty. Sarah and Liz we love what you are up too keep it coming we want to see. They also make sweet tea wallets so you are never without your fave..very cool.

The Boy

Here it comes the best shirt pattern for boys ever just two weeks away!  We named the pattern  Ethan after this guy in the photo here.  Ethan is the son of Jenny from Sew Pretty Dresses who you all know so well!  You may recall Ethan’s sister, Kelsey is one of our all time favorite models and she loves everything Sis Boom. Here she is supporting her brother’s debut. We love Jenny and the love she brings to everything she does what can I say it just shows.  So the Ethan will be also available for men as the Marco and I know that you are all waiting for that as well.  Oh and this fabric from West Indies is perfect for these shirts it’s called  Luca and can be found at Cotton Blossom Farm , Ebay, Etsy, and Hawthorne Threads.

Vintage Child

What a great name for Cat Christiansen’s creations. A Vintage Child is her wonderful place on etsy of precious hand makings.  She does it so well.  Look at this stunning little girl with her Crazy Love Pinafore.  Love the combo and the sweet knots.  Cat we are so grateful for your wonderful touch and thanks for sharing with our blog readers. Everyone is so inspired by everyone else and we are so appreciative when someone puts a signature twist on their collection..Beautiful. Follow sweet Cat on facebook.

Tickles me!!

Zabtree Couture you have quite the eye.  OMG it takes a special vision to put these fabrics together in this ingenious way but I think the theorey is if you love it others will too.  I never would have put these together but omg I can’t stand it ,thrilled with the outcome and I know it is going to inspire others to really just may I say “CLASH”  if it feels right do it!!!  Sometimes a matchy matchy world can close us off from amazing options but friends of Sis Boom all know to do whatever their heart calls them to do!  We see it over and over with the folks highlighted on the blog.  We love your signature, we want to see what you are up to!!  These photos give permission for others to do the same.  I get in trouble because I’m not so matchy matchy but my heart flattens a bit when all the blues match, takes the fun out of creativity.  There is an energy that we don’t see other places when folks express themselves in this colorful way.  Zabtree you rock my casbah!! Theresa Abel Martin you go girl. Find her on facebook.

PS. take a look at the lining of the dress!
