Sis Boom Guest Blogger: Mandy Fulton

We swooned in delight when this lovely bag showed up on our newsfeed one morning. Mandy Fulton won our Caravelle Arcade fabric give away on Facebook this fall and turned it into something amazing. The outside is Jessica in Ivory and Ruby in Pink, and the inside uses Abby in Gray. Thanks for sharing your bag with us, Mandy!. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, you never know when the next fabric giveaway will be.

My name is Mandy Fulton. I’ve been sewing for about 4 years, and it has developed into a great hobby! I love having a creative outlet, with a useful and beautiful end product. I sew mostly for myself and two young daughters, as well as my friends and family.

I needed a bag with lots of pockets and dividers to hold sewing gear and allow me to transport it to sewing group, the local quilt store, or on road trips. This bag has a place for everything, and zips closed in such a way that the contents stay put while on the go. I love that when unzipped, there is a tray with a lip to keep my stuff from migrating as I work. I use the little zippered dumpling dish to hold buttons. The fabric dish snaps in place and holds my wonder clips perfectly.

The pattern, called the Bionic Gear Bag Notions Tote, is on Craftsy, and won their 2014 pattern design contest.

Job Perks

Can you keep a secret? Since I totally trust my Paganelli Peeps, I’m going to let it all out…just don’t tell my boss…

You guys, I have the BEST job in the world! I get to be surrounded by incredible people and breathtaking fabrics all day. We chat, we work, we craft, there are puppies here…what more could you ask for? I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have landed a job with Sis Boom that if someone dared me to eat dirt, I’d totally do it!

So, what has me jumping for joy today? The answer is: the job perks, of course!

Yesterday the most incredible dress arrived at the office and I got to try it on!!

This patchwork Good Company (in stores November 2014) dress was inspired by a J.Crew silhouette and the seamstress absolutely nailed it! Not only was it super comfortable, but it ended up being super convenient during a business meeting as well. When speaking about Jennifer’s upcoming line, Good Company (did I mention it will be available in stores November 2014), I simply stood up to reveal what was to come!

What else did I do for the hour I spent in the dress? Craft and snap some selfies, of course!

Hope everyone enjoys the sneak peek at the collection!

You are loving “Jenny Eliza”

We are so smitten with this line and can’t thank you enough for creating all the beauty we are seeing on social media and we can’t say enough thank yous for all you do.  You enrich our lives with the items you create and inspire all of us with your unique eye!! So many talents so many gifts and we are struck dumb everyday with the multitude of  ideas.  We love Jenny Eliza and see that you love it also. Currently this line is selling at JoAnns and we couldn’t be more pleased with the Launch.  Their website has to keep replenishing the goods and that’s never a bad thing!!!  Please feel free to buy online.  So we had our wonderful photographer friend Tim Geaney (photographer to the stars) take some whimsy so you can see the breathtaking quality of these fabrics for themselves. red meghan hint jimbo sissy katie shore IMG_8088

Make your Valentine a bouquet

Get ready for a photo tutorial of the Valentines Bouquet you all loved. Get some valentine scrapbook paper, maybe some sheet music, some stripes if you want and you will need 18-20 gauge wire so you can glue both ends with hearts.  Cut out 40 hearts and 40 backs to those hearts. Place hearts on either end of 12″ wire stem put scrapbook paper and sheet music back to back and sandwich in the wire. Use a 2″ punch for best results! See supplies below, very easy project.

Picking up where we left off..
Okay so you have your hearts on wires now so fold the bunch in half,  close hand around gently..bend back the hearts and flip the music sheet to the back or whatever you like the sheet music can be on top( they are on wire so whatever you choose will be on the top…press them outward (that’s why we use wire 20 gauge) then when they are all out hold with a rather firm grip and spread them to make a bouquet, so they progressively go out. , wrap ribbon around the wire once you have determined your bouquet is where you like it..use hot glue and wrap  ribbon  around the stem to the top..seal with hot glue..then in the middle of the bouquet put hot glue and add a button or some other vintage castoff or an old jewel..and voila Give it to the one you love!!!! Please let me know how you did.
