What a difference a day makes!!

Read this to yourself and never forget it..Wise words from Marianne  Williamson

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” (A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”, Harper Collins, 1992. From Chapter 7, Section 3])

Her book Return to Love is amazing and I’m so grateful that someone gave it to me years ago..

So here are my french knots now.  By God, I think she’s got it!! perseverance and believing you are deeply loved unconditionally makes the perfection monsters go away. Create a mantra, like “I believe in all good things” say it over and over .  Affirmations saved my life. I used to tell myself everyday “I am strong and capable of handling whatever comes up today!!” that came in right handy.

Thanks for all your comments yesterday, it’s the brokenness and hardship that keep us together.  I’m grateful for my struggles they have humbled me and keep me reaching out to do service for others.  You guys know I am here for you and that is better than any gift I could ever receive.  Now check out these french knots now don’t be  jealous!!

  3. I’m an affirmation girl too…say your affirmations 10 times every morning to start your day! I have 3 that I use and one is from M.Williamson. I think it was from
A Woman’s Worth. I say, “May the light that shines in me today shine through me.”. I read Return to Love years ago and should probably pull it out and read it again. I highly recommend A Woman’s Worth. It’s much shorter but it says so much.
Hope you have a great day! Stay warm!

  4. WOW! To everything…to your blog post (has my eyes watering) and Wow to your gawgeous (hehe) french knots and WOW to Stephanie’s reply.
You are beautiful inside and out Jennifer and it shines through everything you do and touch; through all aspects of your life; and through all your personal contacts. You make a difference in ways that you will never know how much they mean to others. You are like a magnet which is why we are all attracted to your work and to you as the amazing woman that you are…and that is why we all love you. Not just for your work but for who is behind the art. The warm, caring, loving, selfless soul that radiates from everything you do, say and feel. I am gonna have to pick up both of those books that you and Stephanie are referring to. Sounds like something everyone needs to have in their lives. Thanks for the inspiration. Love ya more than ya know. xxoo

A million Thank You’s for your post yesterday and today!!I read yesterday’s post and wanted to respond, but in my most anti-Martha Stewart moment, had burned my hands on a chicken pot(you’d think I never set foot in a kitchen lol!)and was unable to do much of anything. With so much to take care of, deadlines looming, imperfection and judgment whispering in my ear, I found your post and it lifted my spirits. The fear of failure and not getting it right the first time, or the second or the third has kept me from starting(and finishing)so many projects! I still take a deep breath before sewing, and say a little prayer :) Only in the past year have I been able to gradually push past those nagging fears and carry on, perfect or not. I gave my little imperfect self a big hug yesterday and thanked her for all she does! Embracing our flaws is really what makes us who we are! Thank you for sharing your brilliant spirit with all of us! And Thank God for inspiring you to pour out your soul! I can’t thank you enough! XOXO

I thinkyou and I am made from the same cloth! lol.
    xoxo
